September is Happy Cat Month, and here at Price Chopper and Market 32, we believe that we should be celebrating our four-legged friends everyday! The initiative, started by the CATalyst Council, aims to raise awareness about the importance of good care for cats, including proper nutrition, regular veterinary visits, mental stimulation, and creating a safe, comfortable environment for them.
The month of September encourages cat parents to take proactive steps to create the highest quality of life for their fur baby. Here are some tips:
- Providing a balanced diet tailored to the cat’s age, health, and lifestyle. Talk to your vet about the best options for your cat.
- Scheduling regular veterinary check-ups and vaccinations.
- Enriching the cat’s environment with toys, scratching posts, and interactive play.
- Ensuring mental stimulation and exercise to prevent boredom and stress.
- Offering plenty of love, attention, and affection to strengthen the human-animal bond.
- Often, cats need other cat-friends. Believe it or not, cats are social creatures, and adopting another cat may improve their quality of life.

Every year on April 11th, pet lovers across the nation come together to celebrate National Pet Day. It’s a day dedicated to honoring the special bond we share with our beloved animal companions, whether they have fur, feathers, scales, or fins. National Pet Day serves as a reminder of the joy, love, and companionship our pets bring into our lives each and every day.
National Pet Day serves so much more than showering our pets with toys, treats, and endless kisses (although, of course we will do this anyway). It is also a day to bring awareness to the pets in need across the globe, whether that is a need for food, water, or adoption. At Price Chopper & Market 32, we are proud to host a pet food drive from April 1st – April 30th. Your generous donation will help support your local animal shelter. Check out the pet solution center of your local store for products you can purchase and donate. Look for the collection bin or carts at the front of the store.
