Tools For Schools is Back!

It is hard to believe that another school year is right around the corner. At Price Chopper and Market 32, we understand the importance of children having proper school supplies to fuel their education and have donated over $14,600,000 in educational equipment through Tools for Schools. Beginning on Sunday, August 20th, customers can register for Tools for Schools to help their local school earn its share of over $200,000 in educational equipment.

How does what I buy help my school when I register for Tools for Schools?

By registering your AdvantEdge Card on our rewards site (follow steps at the end of this article), you can help the school of your choice accumulate “Stars” when you shop at Price Chopper / Market 32 from August 20, 2023 through February 17, 2024. One AdvantEdge Rewards point equals one Star earned. Just about everything you buy at Price Chopper and Market 32 can go towards Tools For Schools, but there are some exceptions. Items that do not go toward the program include Price Chopper, Market 32 and Market Bistro gift cards, alcohol, money orders, Western Union, lottery tickets, postage stamps, entertainment tickets, bottle deposits, copy/fax services, taxes and other items prohibited by law, including prescription co-pays in NY.

How do I help my school earn educational equipment?

Based on the Stars your school earned compared to all schools, your school will earn a portion of the $200,000 in educational equipment. From there, the Stars are then converted to Tools For Schools Catalog points for your school to order the items of its choosing. You can visit our rewards site after you have registered to view the Stars that you have earned for your school (updated weekly) and you can also elect to donate your AdvantEdge Rewards points to your school (in 100-point increments) to be converted directly to Catalog Points for your school with Price Chopper / Market 32 matching the value of donated points up to $35,000!

Back to Tools for Schools

Summer is coming to an end and local schools are back in session. That means our Tools for Schools program is kicking it into high gear. For over 20 years the program has donated more than $14 million in educational equipment to local schools, and we are excited to add $400,000 to the total this year. We understand how vital it is for our 1,600+ participating schools to have the proper resources to help their students strive to be successful.

Over the years, schools have used their share of the total funds to receive a range of items. From learning essentials like a range of art and creativity supplies to gym equipment like a new activity parachute.

This year we are hoping for even greater results! Sign up now for Tools for Schools to support your school and help it earn its share of $400,000 in educational equipment when you shop thru Dec. 31st!  Earn 2x stars when you create an online AdvantEdge Rewards account.s

KCC Crustless Sandwich Pockets

by Jodie Fitz

OPTION 1:

2 slices of honey wheat bread

2 tablespoons PICS Peanut butter

1 tablespoon PICS Honey

1 Banana

PICS Cinnamon

Cut the bread slices with a large circle cookie cutter to create circular shapes.

Stir the peanut butter and honey together.  Spread it on one side of each of the circles.

Cut half of the banana into thin slices.  Add several slices onto one side of the peanut butter and sprinkle a light coat of cinnamon on top of the banana pieces.

Add the other piece of bread to create a sandwich.

Using a fork, press around the edges of the circle so that it forms a sandwich pocket.

OPTION 2:

2 tablespoons PICS vegetable cream cheese

1 tablespoon of ranch dressing

Cucumber, sliced thin

Cut the bread slices with a large circle cookie cutter to create circular shapes.

Stir the cream cheese and ranch dressing together.  Spread it on one side of each of the circles.

Add the cucumber slices to one side.

Add the other piece of bread to create a sandwich.

Using a fork, press around the edges of the circle so that it forms a sandwich pocket.

More thoughts:

PICS Vegetable Cream Cheese can be located near the bagels at your local Price Chopper/Market 32 Stores.

Ranch Dressing:  Use your favorite.  My personal favorite is the avocado ranch dressing located in the produce aisle at Price Chopper/Market 32 Supermarkets.
