We have 4 different “favorite” teams in our house. So we research tailgate specials for our oppising teams that week and cook them. We have lots of food all day and are able to try different recipes each week! The kids even help make their teams app. so everyone gets involved!

Every Sunday is Game Day at our house. It has been for over 10 years. We have family and friends over every “Football Sunday” and start with snacks (chips, dip and what-not) and I always make a different dinner every weekend. Cooler weather calls for warmer dishes like Black Bean Chili, Chicken and Dumplings, Chicken Riggies, and Sausage and Peppers. I love to have a houseful to watch football! GO GIANTS!

Football Sundays means we break out the crock pot early in the morning and fill it with a family recipe for mexican shredded beef! Then my husband and I get out our lucky team jerseys (I am from the midwest so I am a Packers fan and he is a Redskins fan)…we also put jerseys on our 2 dogs. The rest of the day is spent with the dogs in the living room watching the NFL Sunday ticket so we can see our favorite teams and making shredded beef taco salads and nachos! (The dogs get their own shredded beef taco salad too 🙂

  4. We wear our favorite team’s colors for big games–kids definitely included! I try to be creative by coordinating our game day meals/snacks with our team of choice and/or the region the team is from. Chicken wings for the Bills, jambalya for the Saints, assorted cheese tray for the Packers, to name a few. You get the idea! My kids are trying new foods and associating certain dishes with the many states/regions and their culture across our country. Couldn’t have the wonderful variety without shopping at Price Chopper though, of course!

We love football Sundays!! We DVR the NFL games, because we have our own little line-backer in peewee football. After his game we go home and have a big Sunday dinner and relax watching the games. I’m so excited to start back up this weekend! I’m thinking Italian for this week…. maybe lasagna and salad, yummy!!
