Market 32 Launches Pet Food Drive to Help Celebrate 10 Years of Caring for Every Family Member
[Schenectady, NY, September 15, 2025] In celebration of Market 32’s 10th anniversary, Market 32 and Price Chopper stores are inviting customers to help make a difference in the lives of pets in need through the purchase of $10 bags of pet food.
Now – October 4, shoppers will have the option to purchase and contribute a bag containing five dog food or cat food items. All donations will be distributed to animal shelters local to each store, ensuring these organizations and local families facing hardship can keep their pets healthy and well-fed.
“Pets are family, too,” said Pam Cerrone, director of community relations for Market 32 and Price Chopper. “We’re happy to provide a simple and affordable way for customers to support animal shelters and neighbors who may be struggling to feed their pets. Together, we can make sure that every pet gets the care and nourishment they deserve.”
The donated pet food will benefit animals awaiting adoption at local shelters, as well as outreach programs that provide support to pet owners experiencing food insecurity. It will help stretch resources further and keep pets healthy.
The Pet Food Drive is part of Market 32 and Price Chopper’s ongoing commitment to nourishing communities through hunger relief, health and wellness, and care for families, including pets.
Schenectady, N.Y., July 21, 2025– You herd it here first! Moo-ving into a Market 32 and Price Chopper store near you are three new plush Highland cows—inspired by the bonnie Scottish Highlands—available for $10 each at all 129 locations, with proceeds supporting Feeding America.
These cuddly coos (as they’re referred to in their native Scotland) are more than just charming, they lend a helping hoof. For each coo purchase, $3 will benefit Feeding America, a nationwide network of food banks that helps over 46 million people get the food and resources they need to thrive, while advocating for policies that improve food security.
“These Highland cows are cuddly and adorable, and more importantly, a great way to engage our customers in supporting an organization whose mission is to ensure equitable access to nutritious food for all,” said Pam Cerrone, Market 32 and Price Chopper director of community relations. “Every purchase helps put meals on the table for families facing hunger, and we’re proud to support Feeding America through this campaign.”
The three newest members to join the Market 32 and Price Chopper fold—Aonghas (pronounced “Angus”), Peigi (pronounced “Peggy”), and Daibhidh (pronounced “David”)—each have unique backstories and are udder-ly adorable.
Moo-ve aside for Aonghas, an adorable, shaggy-haired blonde grazer straight from the Scottish Highlands. Aonghas loves snacking and can chew over 150 pounds of grass per day–that’s some serious lawn care! His specialized digestive system is meant for one thing: transforming grass into greatness!
Need an adventure pal? Peigi’s your gal! Peigi is a true native coo of the Scottish Highlands. Opposite Aonghas, her thick, double-layered coat is black like the original Heilan Coos. Her coat keeps her warm and protected through even the harshest weather, making Peigi perfectly suited for the rugged Highland Climate.
Don’t be fooled by Daibhidh’s strong stature! His impressive and slightly intimidating horns curve forward, giving him a bold look, but Heilan coos are some of the most docile creatures around. Daibhidh loves cuddles, nap time, and of course poking around for more grass!
If you fancy a wee Highland friend and want to help fight hunger in your community, Aonghas, Peigi and Daibhidh are ready to graze new pastures with lads and lasses at Market 32 and Price Chopper while supplies last.
