Gift Cards=Fuel Savings!

Looking for ways to save money this holiday season?  Now through November 26th we are offering double fuel points on all gift card purchases (excluding Price Chopper gift cards)!  During these two weeks, any points you earn through the purchase of gift cards will be doubled.  Check out our website for a list of all gift cards we offer including Barnes and Noble, Home Depot, Southwest Airlines, Regal Entertainment, iTunes and many, many more!

Remember, gift cards don’t have to be a gift for someone else; you can use them for your holiday or everyday shopping.  For example, why not purchase a Toys R Us gift card and use that to purchase holiday gifts for your children or for a family you are helping this season?  Or purchase one of our many restaurant gift cards and have a relaxing night out during the hectic holiday season.  All of this can be done while earning double fuel points!  It is such an easy way to gain fuel savings in preparation for the upcoming holidays, but remember it only lasts two weeks!

Also, Black Friday is right around the corner and we have an exciting contest with a chance to win a $100 gift card of your choice, sold at any Price Chopper location.  Tell us your favorite Black Friday shopping story by Monday November 20th at 10:00 AM (both below and on the corresponding post on our Facebook page) to be entered.  Read Official Contest Rules Here.

*Offer doesn’t include the purchase of Price Chopper gift cards. Gift card purchase totals are limited to $999 in a single transaction. Subject to availability. My husband and I have three kids, so only get to go on one date with each other every year- Shopping on Black Friday! Most of the time we only end up buying one or two things, but the anticipation of going out together and the fun of stopping by DnD for bagels and hot chocolate, and getting caught up in the energy of the day- we have such a great time. We look forward to it every single year!

My favorite Black Friday shopping story was when I was 14. Walmart was having a ridiculous sale on an HP computer (I think it was $350-$400 for a computer) and we were due for an upgrade. My mom went to Walmart in Crossgates Commons at 5:30 am that morning while I stayed home to babysit my younger sisters. She ran straight for the electronics department and grabbed one of the last three computers. The boxes were huge and at just 5’0″ she had to stand there gripping the box until someone could help her bring it up front and to her car!! I think it’s one of her favorite stories too 🙂 Hard to believe it’s been 13 years!

  6. My best black friday was going shoopping with all my friends at 4am and getting all the deals, we spread out and had everyone go different ways with a list and it worked perfect, go shopping on black friday with a strategy in mind and it will work.

2 years ago, I broke my foot doing the Troy Turkey Trot and still went out shopping at midnight Black Friday shopping to the Lee Outlets then back to the capital district to finish shopping! I finally got my foot checked out around 6pm Friday night at the Urgent Care. (I did try to get seen at the ER on Thanksgiving, but there were too many other people waiting!)

I love shopping on Black Friday. Always get lots of good deals no matter what. Last year we wanted to get one of those 100 dollar tv’s that Walmart was selling for my youngest daughter and was bummed that they only had a certain amount and …were handing out tickets and we were to late to get a ticket but some nice guy decided he didn’t want to wait in line and gave us his ticket for the tv so we did get one after all. Shopping black friday is fun you never know what deals you will find.

A few years ago, I needed a new laptop and saw Best Buy had good deals. I ate Thanksgiving dinner at a friends house and was at the mall, on line at BB, by 6:30 p.m. I was about 25th in line. I had many layers on and was ready to camp out for the night. I spent until about 4 a.m. outside, took a nap in the car, and was in the store when doors opened to get the goods I had gotten the vouchers for. Met some cool people, including a guy I was seeing for a few months, and got a great laptop for $400. Sadly, the relationship didn’t last but I still have the laptop!

We <3 black Friday!! I always make sure my bills are paid ahead of time so I have some extra cash for those once a year deals! In our family it's a girls event only the boys get to stay home with the kids, last year was our best yet, we split up and each went to a different store because there were so many deals! My mom literally got attacked by an 80 year old woman over a the last sing a ma jig toy!

  12. What we do for our children. I got up super early at 4 a.m. to wait in line at Kmart for a Nintendo Cube. I was with a nice bunch of parents and we were treated to a beautiful shower of shooting stars. When the doors opened at 6 a.m., the manager handed out tickets and we walked in an orderly manner and all was well with the world on Christmas morning when my son opened his gift.

I had never gone Black Friday shopping ,so I went with my daughter and son-in-law. I purchased a 19″ TV at Sears for $57.00 and went to the back of the store to pick it up. When I got back there a man cut right in front of me and got the last one. When I said ” HEY” to him, he just shrugged and said” TOUGH”. The man behind the door came out to me and said,” we are going to substitute a 27″ for the 21″ !! I called my son-in-law to help me get it into the car and the man who cut in front of me asked me if I would be willing to swap. He said his wife was mad at him. I just smiled as I closed my trunk and said” Merry Christmas” Love Black Friday!!!

last year my daughter wanted to camp out in front of target, she was not only third in line, but I equipped her with an EZ up, portable gas grill, food to cook, tea hot chocolate, chairs, blankets, and even a portable firepit. She made the news. She had a blast.

My favorite Black Friday was last year. I brought my younger sister with me, it was her first time. She was amazed at the number of people shopping as well as the determination of some to get items they wanted. While entering a store we discovered a giving tree with many “angels” left on it. My sister and I then decided to finish the day shopping for the “angels” on the giving tree instead of ourselves. We were able to buy for ten “angels” all together. With the Black Friday sales we were able to buy multiple gifts for each child.

  16. Three years ago my sister and I decided to go to the Wrenthem outlets in Massachusetts. She was 23 I was 21. We had never been to the outlets but decided to go at 2am to make sure we get a good spot. We didn’t have exact directions but knew to just follow the traffic. As we approached the exit about 3 am, the traffic was bumper to bumper. We put the car in park and sat there till about 5:30. We talked and talked and it was nice, something we never did before. The traffic moved about 10 feet in those 2 and a half hours so we decided to turn around. Later on that day, we watched the news and found out that at the bottom of that ramp a tractor trailer overturned. We weren’t at the right exit. That traffic was due to the accident. The actual mall exit was still about 20 minutes down the road and they reported that the traffic was not so bad. Sadly my sister passed away in a car accident that Christmas eve, but I will never forget that black Friday as the best bonding experience I ever had with my sister. Just a nice heart to heart talk at 3 in the morning 🙂

  17. I remember getting in line in the rain at 4am outside Walmart just for the possibility of getting a ticket so if they possibly got some Furbies before Christmas, I could get one. I did score one of the magic tickets and when they arrived at the store weeks later, they told me I had 10 minutes to pick it up before they released it to someone else. Glad there were no troopers around that day LOL. Anyway, she got her Furby, which she enjoyed for about 2 weeks, and then by the next Christmas, there were hundreds on the shelf and no one wanted them.

I remember my 1st time. There was a sewing machine that I really wanted but couldn’t afford. Times were tough. There was a ad and there was a sewing machine going for $25.00. Well the lines were long, but I had my coffee and I was fine. I had heard alot of stories about people pushing and shoving, but there was none of that. I bought it. It was a basic machine, but it was the best purchase I had made. I’ve made alot of clothes and alot of fixes with that machine. Never broke down and the best thing is, I still have it and it still works 10 years later.

I do not typically shop on black friday. I think it’s crazy. But two years ago Walmart had a dvd on sale that my daughter really wanted. By the time I went they were all out. I went to customer service to ask a question about something else I was looking for. While I was standing in line, I notice a shopping cart full of items that needed to be restocked. I asked if I could look through it and they said yes. In that basket I found the movie that my daughter wanted! I was so excited! My daughter was very excited when she opened it on Christmas Day.
