Maple Apple Crisp Ingredients 6 medium firm NYS apples, cored, sliced 1 T. lemon juice 2/3 cup PICS maple syrup, divided 1 ½ cups Gatherer’s granola ½ cup PICS chopped walnuts (optional) 1/2 cup PICS brown sugar 1 tsp. PICS cinnamon ¼ tsp. nutmeg 1/8 tsp. salt ½ cup cold PICS butter, cut into small pieces PICS vanilla ice cream (optional) Instructions Preheat oven to 375°F. Spray an 8”x 8” baking pan with nonstick cooking spray. Place sliced apples in pan, sprinkle with lemon juice and drizzle 1/3 cup maple syrup over apples, mixing gently. In a large mixing bowl, combine granola, walnuts (if using), remaining 1/3 cup maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.  Cut in butter using pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Spread granola topping evenly over the apples, and bake for 30 minutes or until the apples are tender, and topping is golden brown. Serves 8. For best results, serve warm with vanilla ice cream!
