  1. I give lots of healthy options to add to oatmeal- nuts, berries, honey.etc. That way it is always the way you want it.

I make Quaker Oatmeal EVERY day- I use the regular slow cooking oats, adding a small pat of butter and 1/2 tsp vanilla to the milk/water as it cooks. So healthy and delicious!

I love using Quaker Oats in my muffin and bread recipes!

I ensure not only my kids eat nutritous Quaker Oatmeal but many kids eat a great breakfast by donating Quaker oatmeal to my local food pantry. We have a 60% poverty rate in my town and oatmeal is a very important and yummy food for growing kids to eat. I donate the flavored instant oatmeal and they just love it!!! If I am selected, I would like my winnings to please be donated to the Webster Dudley Food Share in Webster, MA so that children and families in need continue to receive this very important food. Donations are down greatly and this will go a long way with the food local pantry. Thank you so much for considering.

Oatmeal is delicious and is a wonderful food for sustained energy. I discovered about 25 years ago that my fluctuating blood sugar levels could be stabilized with a delicious bowl of oatmeal in the morning. My daughter inherited the borderline hypoglycemia and has been enjoying a bowl of Quaker maple flavored oatmeal on a regular basis for years. Helping my teens make healthy food choices, I always have fresh fruit ready to grab and I supplement the oatmeal with homemade breads and muffins. Both are athletes and have learned to eat well to fuel their bodies and hard working muscles.

  10. Jaime Brown says:

I always loved the flavor of the apple cinnamon instant oatmeal as a kid, but didn’t like the texture of the apples. Recently I made it from scratch for my children and it was a big hit! All it is is sliced apples, brown sugar, honey and a touch of butter to help it melt in a pan over medium heat. Season with cinnamon and nutmeg to taste and saute till the apples are slightly soft. Add to plain cooked oatmeal and dig in.

  11. Susan Petteys says:

We love Quaker oatmeal.. Use all types.. the long cooking in our granola bar recipe, quick cooking for cereal or in recipes, such as meatloaf, for added nutrition and the instant for that “grab it and go” breakfast mornings…So much nutrition and taste for a good price!!

I am not above letting the kids put “fun” things in their Quaker oatmeal if it gets the pickier kids to eat it. I know they eat it for the chocolate chips I let them put in it, but I also know that with that chocolate they are getting an awesome boost of fiber and vitamins which will keep their bellies full and their brains humming through the school day morning. And if you use bittersweet or dark chocolate chips as an add-in they also get a bit of an anti-oxidant boost.

  13. Ann says:

We love instant oatmeal with a small container of yogurt mixed into it and a few nuts sprinkled on top for crunch!

  14. Tavia Rauch says:

  18. It all starts at the grocery store. Buy the healthy stuff, and that’s what the family will eat.

  19. Jennifer Roberts says:

My son loves a hot oatmeal breakfast (Quaker chocolate chip is his favorite!), while my daughter prefers fruit and cheese. They have different tastes, but they both need their breakfast to get off to a good (and not grumpy!) start each day.

  20. Vivian Escalante says:

I am the role model in the house. All eyes are on me, so when the kids see me eating a healthy breakfast like oatmeal with berries, nuts, honey, and even peanut butter, they follow my lead. Eating oatmeal, which contains an amazing amount of fiber, is a great way to start your day and feel great about yourself.

  21. Bob Buettner says:

By showing my son the results of my cholesterol screening every year and the fact that the bad is rock bottom and the good is right where it should be. I’ve had oatmeal for breakfast for the last 15 years. It’s great with or without any additives..blueberries are my favorite. I attribute my healthy chol. levels to eating oatmeal everyday. My doctor is always surprised how good they are and even had me retested once because he thought the lab made an error.
