Tips for Your Childs Check Ups

Good to Whoa!

The Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition's Ounce of Prevention has prepared a number of informational kits to help you prepare for your well-child visits to your pediatrician.

Ounce of Prevention

Price Chopper has been working to locate and link to the best resources to help families create healthy meals and healthy relationships with food for their children. We have been working with local communities on resources to assist with preventing pediatric obesity, and we are proud to bring some wonderful resources to our communities with the Ounce of Prevention program

Designed for infancy through 6 years of age, the Ounce of Prevention informational kit provides parent handouts, physician resources and posters to help prevent obesity through the first 12 well-child visits, from birth through age six.

Addressing the growing epidemic of obesity is top priority for many health care providers and community leaders. Physicians who regularly monitor growth and provide anticipatory guidance related to parenting, eating, and physical activity can perform an important intervention in a child's life.

Ounce of Prevention is a collaboration of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Ohio Chapter; Ohio Department of Health; Ohio Dietetic Association; Nationwide Children's Hospital; Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition; and the Dairy Council Mid East. In New York State, Price Chopper continues to locate science-based, practical resources for our customers.
