Our authentic New York City style bagels are made fresh from scratch 7 days a week in more than 15 varieties. Our bakers let the dough rest for 24 hours to give them that rich, chewy texture & delicious taste. They are shaped by hand, tossed into a vat of boiling water and finally baked in our stone hearth oven. But no bagel is complete without our custom blended, smooth & creamy cream cheese. We mix our donut dough fresh every day, roll it out and then cut it in various shapes. After the dough rises we deep fry it in 100% pure vegetable oil shortening. When they cool off we fill and add icing. To make sure you always get a fresh batch we start deep frying early in the morning and all through the day. Believe me, that's the only way to make sure you get a donut that's soft on the inside and crisp on the outside.
All of our artisan breads are handmade each day with all natural ingredients using a starter dough that is also replenished daily. After combining the starter with a fresh batch of dough the mixture is left in fermenting tubs for 1 ½ to 2 hours to age. Then it is hand molded and trayed up on corn meal covered wooden boards and placed in the cooler to ferment until the next day when it will be baked. The slow fermentation process is where bread gets its flavor and our breads are never rushed to the oven. When aged to perfection they are baked on a stone hearth and steam is injected into the oven giving the bread a delicious brown crust while keeping the inside soft and tender.
Each morning starting at 8am each morning hot artisan bread is coming out of our ovens and is baked throughout the day so no matter what time you are shopping you can not only smell the wonderful aroma of warm baked bread but you can try a sample and buy a hot loaf to take home.
We have over 20 varieties of fresh artisan bread baked daily and we also feature a different "Bread of the Day" at a super low price. So if you love real old fashioned European bread that has a thick crust and is soft and chewy on the inside with flavor that explodes in your mouth then you have to visit us because there aren't too many places left that you can experience the "history" of bread in such a way.
