Voilá! Cookies for the classroom without the baking time.

In a glass bowl, stir together the granulated sugar and four drops of red food coloring. Add more food coloring if you would like the sugar to be a deeper red.
Frost the sugar cookies with the vanilla frosting. Place the cookie cutter on top, but do not press it in. The cookie cutter is only there to create the top design.
Sprinkle the colored sugar onto the cookie on the inside of the cookie cutter (or the reverse if you would like a different design). While the cookie cutter is still in place, using a spoon, gently press the sugar into the frosting to create a heart shaped design. Remove the cookie cutter, wipe and repeat!
Note:
One (18oz) container of frosting will frost about 20 cookies.
